The Tokyo mosque is the largest mosque in Japan with space for around 1,200 worshippers. It sits in a quiet residential area in the Shibuya ward. The original mosque was build in 1938 but was rebuilt again from 1998 and reopened on the 30th of June 2000.
The architecture is very much Ottoman Turkish style, which is a bit disappointing as I would have liked to have seen more of a Japanese influence. Nevertheless, it was still a nice looking mosque. It was quiet and empty when I visited, so I managed to go inside to take some photos.
