Munich is home to one of the best-selling car manufacturers in the world, BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke) translated in English as Bavarian Motor Works. Founded in 1916, they are also the parent company for Mini and Rolls-Royce. BMW Welt (BMW World) is a modern, sleek building that showcases the brand and acts as a showroom. The building itself is worth a visit even if you are not into cars.
Designed by Coop Himmelb(l)au architects, the futuristic design is unique. The stand out piece for me is of the impressive Double Cone near the main entrance. Inside, the impressive architecture continues with wave-like ceilings and curved walkways. It is free to visit and has a souvenir shop and restaurant to help you stick around and admire the building and cars on display. Don't forget to checkout the BMW museum just opposite connected by a footbridge.
