WIELICZKA SALT MINES

Wieliczka and Bochnia Royal Salt Mines

Location

Daniłowicza 10, 32-020 Wieliczka

A day trip from Kraków, we visited the 13th century salt mine located in Wieliczka. It is one of the oldest salt mines in the world. Over hundreds of years, miners have dug over 300km of tunnels. You can see impressive carved statues in salt, a lot of chapels, a ball room and an underground lake. There are even function rooms, bars and restaurants. I found it a very interesting place to visit and recommend if you are visiting Kraków to come take a look for yourself.
