Where to eat

Salka Valka

Skólavörðustígur 23
Reykjavík

Excellent food and service with breakfast, lunch and dinner available. They specialize in fish and also has vegan options.

I recommend trying out their signature dish, Plokkfiskur. Oven baked Haddock and Cod mixed with potatoe, onions, herbs and spices. Topped with Bernaise sauce and served with vegetables, Rugbrauð (Icelandic sweet bread) and basmati rice. Their apple pie is amazing too!

Mokka Kaffi

One of the oldest coffee shops in Reykjavik. It has a retro, 1950's vibe to the place, with the brown leather and red carpet. It was my regular while I was staying in town. There is a great selection of coffee, cakes and sandwiches. You can't go wrong with their Swiss Mocha and carrot cake
